Institute for Transport Sciences Ltd (KTI) -HUNGARY

The Institute of Transport Sciences Ltd (KTI) is a Hungarian national research institution with objectives to study, adapt and publish the theoretical and practical aspects needed for the development and operation of transport to satisfy social and economic demands. During the past 10 years the institute has carried out an average of 400 projects (research and development commissions) annually. The first legal predecessor of the KTI was founded in 1938. The institute - which was previously state-owned, and later incorporated as a shareholder company - de facto is a "not-for-profit organization. The Hungarian Ministry of Economics and Transport now exercises ownership rights over the KTI.
